How to get to Kuummiut
A local helicopter, departing from Tasiilaq Heliport, will take you to Kuummiut. In the summertime and autumn an alternative could be to take the local vessel M/S Johanna Kristina. Another option could be to charter a boat in advance and being picked up when arriving at Kulusuk airport.

The convenient store “Pilersuisoq” is offering basic food, clothing, fishing and hunting equipment.

It possible to get the store open on Sundays. For this service you need to pay an opening fee: 500 DKK. Contact the grocer.
You’ll also find a pay phone at the store.
Language
Greenlandic and some Danish (a few people speak some English), however Kuummiut is frequently visit by tourist's and the population will be able to assist you despite the language gab between you.

Means of payment Danish currency. Visa, Mastercard, Dankort, Akiliut and checks are excepted. No cash draw.
Medical Treatment The hospital in Ammassalik is located in Tasiilaq, however there is a nursing station in the settlement.

On Fridays and Saturdays the Community house host the weekly ”Dansemik” where the youth meets to dance and hang out.

Here you’ll find a small selection off daily goods, cans non-alcoholich beverages, candy and so forth. You can also buy hot coffee and tea.
The Church Service on Sundays. 10 – 11 a.m. The church is not locked during the week, and you’re welcome to have a visit. It’s allowed to take pictures, except when funeral.

Working hours: Monday - Friday 8 - 12 a.m. ,1p.m. – 5 p.m.
The factory is open for tourists during working hours. The managing director and the engineer speaks English.
You can’t buy fish directly from the factory – only in the local convenient store.
The School

There are 84 pupils from the 1st to the 9th grade. 11 Teachers.
