Summer Dogsledding on Wheels
Even in summer, you can step into the world of the East Greenlandic sled dog. Your experience begins by meeting the dogs themselves: strong, loyal, and deeply rooted in Greenlandic culture. With your musher as guide, you’ll learn how these remarkable animals live, train, and work throughout the year, gaining insight into a tradition that has shaped life in East Greenland for generations. Although the snow has melted, you will still get a glimpse of what a winter dog sledding experience looks and feels like. Buckle up, it’s time for your summer dogsledding adventure on wheels. Once the dogs are ready, they’ll pull you along a gravel road outside Tasiilaq, giving you a true sense of their power, teamwork, and enthusiasm as they run.
Each cart carries two guests and one professional musher. The musher will handle steering and safety while explaining the techniques of mushing, and you might even have the chance to try driving the cart yourself once you’re comfortable. The current route spans approximately 7–12 kilometres, providing ample time to experience the thrill of summer mushing, take in the surrounding landscapes, and connect with these extraordinary dogs. It’s an unforgettable and summer-friendly introduction to Greenland’s iconic sled dog culture.
