Remember: Bring a good zoom lens for your camera, if you want to capture the polar bear from at least 200m distance during your authorised polar bear experience.
Attention: It is illegal to use drones and capture polar bears with drones under any circumstances, according to the polar bear protection law in Greenland (§4, stk.5 and §14, stk.2)
Certified Polar Bear Tours badge marks a rare and authorised experience. Only a select few local operators in East Greenland are licensed to guide polar bear encounters – ensuring strict safety standards, respectful wildlife observation, and a minimum distance of 200 metres at all times.
Tours are led by experienced local guides with deep knowledge of the terrain, wildlife behaviour, and Arctic conditions – offering a responsible way to witness polar bears in their natural habitat.
