Air Greenland

Air Greenland, the national carrier of Greenland, does connect the Ammassalik region to the country’s capital – Nuuk. With regular flights between Kulusuk and Nuuk, and onward connections from/to Denmark, Air Greenland provides one of the entry points to the Ammassalik region.

Since the opening of the new airport in Nuuk, the transatlantic flights to Nuuk are operated with an Airbus 330neo, while the domestic flights are operated on a Dash-8. The ‘De Havilland Dash 8 Q200’ are turboprop-powered aircrafts that can fit a maximum of 37 passengers.

Additionally, Air Greenland operates the helicopter service in the Ammassalik region as well as Ittoqqortoormiit.

For the Ammassalik region that ensures connecting domestic and international arrivals in Kulusuk further to Tasiilaq, as well as operating helicopter transportation from Tasiilaq once to twice per week to the other settlements in the Ammassalik region – Isertoq, Kuummiut, Sermiligaaq and Tiilerilaaq. In Ittoqqortoormiit, Air Greenland services the helicopter route between Ittoqqortoormiit and Nerlerit Inaat (CNP). The helicopter operated in the Ammassalik area is a model ‘H155’, while in Ittoqqortoormiit it is a model ‘Bell212’.
